Petra-Cornelia Marinescu has built a well-rounded profile in European Union law, international law, business strategy, GDPR compliance, and technology regulation. Her academic path includes dual law degrees from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Franco-Romanian Legal College in Bucharest) and the University of Bucharest. Further specialization came with a Master’s 1 degree in European and International Business Law from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Franco-Romanian Legal College in Bucharest), focusing on free movement and competition law. An interest in technology regulation led to completing an LLM at the University of Bucharest, where a thesis on GDPR compliance for SMEs received high praise.

Her experience extends beyond academia, with participation in international competitions such as the Charles Rousseau International Law Competition  (semi-finalist in 2023, Montréal Canada) and the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition (Washington D.C). These experiences provided opportunities to refine analytical and advocacy skills while engaging with public international law at a competitive level.

During her studies, Petra-Cornelia published articles on European business law and engaged in research on emerging topics like the legal personality of artificial intelligence (AI) and “erga omnes partes” obligations within international maritime law.

Petra-Cornelia is fluent in French, English, and Romanian, which enhances her ability to approach legal cases from multiple perspectives and provide well-rounded, effective solutions.
